According to Philly Brownstoner, Postgreen (subjects of Grid‘s May cover story) have run into some snags with the streets department over the bay windows on their upcoming Avant Garage development:
The architects had attempted to creatively solve a number of unique urban issues, using open grates in place of a block-killing row of garage doors, and creating angled bay facades that would invite residents to look down Memphis Street rather than front directly onto the massive warehouse situated opposite the houses. Those overhangs, however, are now at the root of an impasse with the Streets Department, which has rejected the plan due to a violation of streets code arcana dating back to the 1930s, according to Postgreen’s Chad Ludeman
Unfortunately, this setback might send them back to the drawing board.
