Summer Editorial Internships Available at Grid

Grid has openings for editorial interns this summer, beginning in May. We are looking for current students or recent graduates with a background in environmental or sustainability issues, strong writing skills and an interest in contributing to Grid's mission and learning more about it. The positions are unpaid, with the option of receiving school credit.

Duties will include:

  • Helping with editorial process, including blog posts
  • Social media 
  • Planning and assisting at Grid events
  • Database research for local green businesses
  • Fact-checking
  • Proofreading

Internships are typically a semester or year-long, but can be flexible. The positions are unpaid, with the option to receive school credit.

  • Planning and assisting at Grid events
  • Database research for local green businesses
  • Fact checking
  • Proofreading

Grid is looking for eco-minded individuals to help strengthen our community through hands-on experience researching, marketing and reporting on events. Preferred candidates will have strong research skills, a background in environmental or sustainability issues, and marketing experience, but anyone can help. Internships are typically a semester or year-long, but with the opportunity to last as long as you would like. The positions are unpaid, with the option to receive school credit. Below is a partial list of duties.

Calling all future Gridterns! Editorial internships available for Spring 2013

Are you passionate about sustainability? Do you want to get hands-on experience working for a small publication? Grid is looking for eco-minded individuals in the Philadelphia area interested in contributing to our monthly magazine and online content. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience reporting, researching and fact checking in a small team. Preferred candidates will have strong writing skills and an interest, if not experience, covering environmental or sustainability issues. Editorial internships are typically a semester-long and unpaid, but students can receive school credit for their time.   • Writing blog posts for the Grid website. 
  • Assisting with Grid's social media pages (Facebook and Twitter)
  • Researching story ideas
  • Attending press conferences and local events to write about
  • Fielding and formatting event submissions for Grid's online and print calendars
  • Assisting in magazine distribution (includes some delivery, visiting distribution points, and making monthly follow-up calls to distribution points)
  • Attending Grid parties/events and potentially tabling at future events
  • Transcribing interviews
  • Fact checking
