The Kensington South Neighborhood Advisory Council and Pennsylvania Horticultural Society in conjunction with environmental educator Paco Verin will discuss how natural pest management utilizes simple, environmentally-safe and effective practices.

6/9  "A Perfect Fit" The Career Wardrobe Fundraiser

Indulge in a night of fashion, auctions and cocktails with The Career Wardrobe for its tenth annual premier fundraising event, A Perfect Fit. This reception, auction, and celebrity fashion show features fashion presentation by local anchorwomen and media personalities. The evening will also include a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception sponsored by Barefoot Wines and Pravda Vodka and a live auction of one-of-a-kind purses autographed by celebrities and designed by Viv Pickle Custom Handbag Studio. Join friends, neighbors, and colleagues as the Morris Arboretum celebrates thirty years of the Moonlight & Roses annual fundraising gala. The party will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in Rose Garden, followed by dinner and dancing under a festive clear-top tent. To specially highlight Moonlight & Roses’ 30th year milestone and celebrate the rich history of the Arboretum, this year’s theme and décor will incorporate historical elements of the gardens, direct from the Morris Arboretum archives. Reservations are required and space is very limited. 6/11 Third Annual Jakestock 2011

This Saturday enjoy a day of family fun for a good cause! Play softball and volleyball, hop on a moon bounce, get your face painted, eat good food and try your luck in raffles for items like Phillies tickets! Local bands will be playing all day. Money raised goes toward Jake Revere Foundation (benefits graduating seniors and the local community). Rain date is Sunday, June 12th.

6/12  Dock Street to Dock Street Philly Beer Week Run

Celebrate the ending of Philly Beer week with the Dock Street to Dock Street Run. Start at the actual Dock Street in Old City and run a course to the Dock Street brewpub in West Philly.
