Maysie’s Farmfest 2011: The Conservation Concert

Start

Get ready for two days of eco-friendly food, music and fun. Maysie’s Farm is rolling out its annual Farmfest to dispaly the importance of conservation as well as ecological thinking — hoe down style.

The festival will be solar powered, offer only local food options, including beer from Victory Brewing Co., Crazy about Hummus wraps, Pure Blend Tea, and Golden Valley Farm coffee. The festival will showcase local artists/musicians, and feature the wares of sustainable companies and crafters. Last year over 600 eager supporters came out for the event, but this year the Maysie’s crew is expecting 2,000 sustainable supporters to converge on the farm’s grounds for a weekend of good eats and beats!

Headlining Saturday night is Philadelphia favorite Hoots & Hellmouth, the Americana/roots rock group that brings both city and country sounds to the stage. Sunday night, another Philly native Sharon Little will woo the audience with her soulful sounds. Other artists include, The Whispering Tree, Toy Soldiers, Hezekiah Jones, Kuf Knotz and Mason Porter. Plus, don’t forget to bring your brood! There will be children’s activities happening all weekend, from tie dying, to fitness rock and roll with Miss Amy (a supporter of the President’s Challenge Program to get kids moving through dance).

Tickets can be purchased up until the day of the event, Saturday June 11th. One day tickets cost $25 in advance and $30 the day of. Two day tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the gate. Farmfest 2011 will take place at Maysie’s Farm on 15 St. Andrew’s Lane in Glenmoore (Ludwig’s Corner). The festival will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday and keep the party rolling until 10 p.m. On Sunday, festivities will start up at 1 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
