Stand Up for the Oceans: Eat, Drink, Laugh…Defend!

Start

Attention all you Whale Wars fans and sea life enthusiasts! On May 14th, Sea Shepherd Philadelphia and the Comics Connection are hosting a benefit for the East Coast Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, the non-profit whose mission it is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughtering of wildlife in the world’s oceans.

The night will be jam packed with sea-inspired events and will take place just over the bridge at Colleen’s at the Savoy in Pennsauken, NJ. Special guest, Captain Chuck Swift, DCEO of Sea Shepherd Philadelphia and former Captain of the Bob Barker ship, will be there, along with the team from National Geographic’s Rescue Ink.

The night will also include a large silent auction where guests may bid on a vast array of unique pieces, including Sea Shepherd and ocean-inspired art and exclusive items from the ships, captains, and crew of the “No Compromise” campaign, the first to ever shut down illegal whaling in the Southern Ocean.

If you are not already excited by all the night has to offer, after dinner, comedians Maddog Mattern and Gary Gulman of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”will put on a comedy show.

And, don’t forget to save some energy to dance the night away until 3:00 a.m.

The cost for the evening: $100 for an individual ticket or $175 per couple. Your choice of vegetarian or vegan dinner is included. Sorry, junior ocean wildlife activists, you must be over 18 to attend.

Go to www.seashepherd.org/standup to learn how you can meet these courageous animal heroes, laugh at hilarious comedy, enjoy an amazing dinner and support ocean conservation with great friends.
