Action Alert: BCGP Invites you to support biking/walking projects

Start

This afternoon, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) invites you to attend the United States House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee listening meeting. Chairman John Mica and Congressman Patrick Meehan are coming to King of Prussia as part of a nationwide tour .

According to the Committee’s announcement, the public will not be able to make comments at this session. However, it’s still a wonderful opportunity to reveal to the attending members of congress that there is public support for trails and biking/walking projects.

This panel discussion will concentrate on how draft a new long-term reauthorization of our nation’s surface transportation programs:

The Committee is seeking input on how to consolidate and improve the performance of programs, cut government red tape and streamline the project delivery process, increase private sector investment in our infrastructure, identify creative financing alternatives, and other ideas for writing the legislation. The previous multi-year law (SAFETEA-LU) expired in September 2009.

The BCGP urges those interested in furthering legislation that supports biking and walking initiatives to attend this listening session and display their support.

RSVP is required as seating is limited. Please RSVP inquiries to Keenan Lynch at 202-225-2011 or Keenan.Lynch@mail.house.gov
