Communal dinner series springing up at Cafe Estelle

Start

Beginning tomorrow at 7am, Cafe Estelle (444 N. Fourth St.) will open up reservations for a series of Monday-night, communal-table tasting dinners kicking off on the first day of spring, March 21.

The seven-course Monday dinners, reoccuring on April 18 and May 23, will give chef/owner Marshall Green a chance to flex the fine-dining muscles he earned working in kitchens like Aimee Olexy and Bryan Sikora’s groundbreaking Django.  Though Cafe Estelle’s hours end at 4 pm, the house-smoked salmon and bacon, locally sourced produce, lovingly fashioned scrapple and house-baked bread and pastries all attest to Green’s culinary life beyond breakfast.

Hit the jump to see the menu for Cafe Estelle’s first communal-table tasting dinner on March 21.  Reservations can be made by calling 215-925-5080 starting Tues., Feb. 22 at 7 am; the price is $70 per person before tax and tip. Guests are encouraged to BYO.
