Upcoming: Cheese Meets Beer at the FFF

Start

One of the few complaints about the location of Grid‘s offices is the lack of a well-loved watering hole nearby for post-work drinks. (If you know of one near 11th and Arch, please share.) Well, Fair Food is coming to the rescue. They are launching a series of “Meet Your Local Cheesemaker” happy hours at the Farmstand in Reading Terminal Market. At each event, they’ll pair local artisan cheesemakers—and their wares—with local brews.

The inaugural happy hour is happening this Friday and the guests will be Chester County’s Shellbark Hollow Farm, goat cheese-makers extraordinaire. They’ll be showcasing their famous sharp chevre alongside marinated chevre and crottins inspired by a recent trip to France. Phoenixville’s Sly Fox will be supplying the suds, with an assist from The Foodery.

Next up, on Friday, May 28, will be another goat dairy—Amazing Acres—whose delights include a soft disc of goat cheese encased in liquor-laced grape leaves.

Meet Your Local Cheesemaker Happy Hour feat. Shellbark Hollow and Sly Fox: 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, April 30 at the Fair Food Farmstand in Reading Terminal Market.
