Moore Good Stuff: “Earth Matters”

Start

Moore College of Art and Design has been quite the green goddess of enviro-consciousness lately! This year, Moore is hosting the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Invitational “Earth Matters.”

The NCECA Invitational is a themed, curated exhibition that brings together both reputable artists (via invitation) and young, emerging artists (via submission) for a collision of varying perspectives on a chosen theme. NCECA describes the work as “leading edge, large scale and often challenging ceramic art.”

This year’s theme, “Earth Matters,” focuses on how topics and perspectives in art are being shaped by concerns for the environment. Artists involved chose various approaches to addressing these concerns: some shout warnings, some reflect on the fragility of our situation and others offer solutions.

Exhibition runs from March 13-April 10, Monday-Friday 11 am – 7 pm, Saturday 11 am – 5 pm, Closed on Sunday & all academic/legal holidays. Moore College of Art & Design, 20th & Parkway.
