Jewish Food Festival

  • Congregation Rodeph Shalom 615 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, Pa. (map)

Hazon Philadelphia’s day of learning, food and Jewish culture is themed “Waste Not, Want Not: Exploring Our Food Choices” and centers around the concept of bal tashchit—minimizing food waste.

People of all religious denominations and affiliations are welcome to take part in the community-building discussions, browse the market and dance to the madcap klezmer of West Philadelphia Orchestra. More than 20 workshops will offer insight into different elements of food, cooking, Jewish life, social justice, sustainability and community.

Please bring your own lunch or buy a $5 meal voucher to purchase a meal from the vendors.

From the website: “The word hazon means vision. We work to create a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community, and a healthier and more sustainable world for all.”
