Seed Keeping Workshop: Storytelling, Liberation, & How to Save Seeds

  • 4824 Baltimore Ave Philadelphia, PA, 19143 United States (map)

Keeping seeds connects us to our past and to our collective future. When we keep our seeds, we hold onto our freedom.

We begin with telling the stories embodied in our ancestors’ seeds, and discussing the current political context which makes seed keeping so essential. We'll briefly explore important concepts for saving seeds such as flower anatomy, isolation distance, and taxonomy. Following the discussion, we will work hands-on spending the bulk of the time cleaning both wet and dry seeds using common items from the kitchen. You're also invited to bring your own seeds to share.
