Green Building 101 +LEED: Paving the Way for Subcontractors in Philadelphia

About the Course: The City of Philadelphia is raising the bar for better environmental and energy efficiency standards in all newly constructed and renovated City buildings. Join USGBC and the City of Philadelphia Municipal Energy Office for a course introducing the foundations of green buildings practices and strategies. Imagine buildings and communities that regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life. Green building can do this – and subcontractors’ expertise are an important part of making it happen.

Learn how you can become a champion for green building on the job site and in your community. If you are ready to gain the skillset for supporting healthy and sustainable building projects, then this course will provide you with more information and actions to take. The free course is for anyone new to green building concepts and strategies, particularly subcontractors looking to get hired on these projects in Philadelphia.

About the Instructor: This course is taught by Ryan Snow, LEED AP BD+C. Ryan is a sustainability professional and educator with over two decades of leadership in the green building industry. As Regional Director, U.S. Market Transformation & Development at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), he leads a regional team to grow sustainability, health, resilience, and equity in buildings and communities through LEED.  He is responsible for a successful market transformation and development growth strategy and heads a team that delivers local programming, education, stakeholder engagement, and leadership celebration in local market.
