Greenfest Philly, Clean Air Council looking for big ideas

Greenfest Philly, now entering its ninth year, aims to provide an inviting avenue for Philadelphians to engage with a more sustainably conscious lifestyle through small changes in the consumer and lifestyle choices they make every day. This year, Clean Air Council, the nonprofit responsible for organizing the festival, is partnering with the Philadelphia-based hygiene products manufacturing and development company SCA once again to present the 2014 Green Innovators Program, and they’re looking for businesses and organizations with great ideas.

Both applications and nominations can be submitted at Greenfest Philly’s website, and will be accepted on a rolling basis until August 25. When Greenfest takes over Headhouse Square in Society Hill on Sept. 7, the nominees will each have the opportunity to put their business on display for the thousands of festival attendees, all of whom get the chance to cast their vote at the festival and online for the most innovative vendor. Though a winner is announced on stage at the end of the festival, all of the 2014 Green Innovators get major exposure at the event and online via social media coverage from Clean Air Council and SCA.

Free to the public, Greenfest Philly runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Sept. 7 in Society Hill’s Headhouse Square and will feature live music, a beer garden, local food vendors and activities for kids.
