On Thursday, Sept. 19, Mt. Airy, USA will host “Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll,” featuring over 40 local food trucks or restaurants. Stroll Germantown Ave. from Sedgwick Street to West Mt. Airy Avenue from 6 – 10:30 p.m. The event hopes to build on the success of Mt. Airy’s last two Night Markets, which attracted more than 11,000 visitors, says Elizabeth Moselle, of Mt. Airy, USA, a neighborhood community development corporation.
“The event does a lot to boost our local economy and shine a spotlight on our wonderful and growing community of small businesses,” says Moselle, who hopes this year’s event will also draw attention to many new businesses along Germantown Ave. With Mt. Airy favorites like Earth Bread + Brewery, Wine Thief, and Little Jimmie’s Bakery already announced as participating, Street Fare 2013 organizers hope for a big crowd.
Uber town car service app for iPhones and Android is also offering a complimentary fare to the event (up to $25), making your transportation to Northwest Philly a cinch.
