The July issue of Grid is on newstands now, and we will be celebrating with an issue release party this Friday, June 7. Our 51st issue is packed with great features, including a profile of Philly Bread, a look at urban wildlife, and lots and lots of cheese, from how to make your own ricotta, a day in the life of cheesemaker Jamie Png at Valley Creamery, and a serious look at the tension faced by some of our favorite micro dairies operating in the Philadelphia suburbs. Plus, this issue includes the 10th annual Local Food Guide, brought to you by Grid and Fair Food, and much, much more!
Come celebrate with Grid and Saucony Creek Brewing Co. as we unveil our July issue and they unveil their new Stonefly IPA at Grace Tavern. Grid issue #51 and the new brew will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 for a happy hour before First Friday starts at locations all over the city.
Saucony Creek Brewing is a hyper-local brewery based in Kutztown PA using ingredients from local farmers and brewing in small batches. The Stonefly IPA is a partnership between Saucony Creek Brewing and the Schuylkill Action Network, and a portion of the sales from the beer will benefit restoration projects across the Schuylkill Valley. Every glass of this refreshing brew will both support the local food economy and the local environment.
Starting with the release party, the July issue, featuring the 2013 Local Food Guide will be available at distribution points around the city. Follow Saucony Creek Brewery on facebook and twitter for more information on how to purchase and taste their fine craft beers.
