Team Effort: Three local nonprofits collaborate on free clothes donation pick-up

Image via washcyclelaundry.comNeed a reason to clean out your closet this summer? Here's your chance. Three local nonprofits are joining forces in a free donation pick-up day.

On Monday, July 23, Wash Cycle Laundry and Gearing Up will be offering free pick-up of gently used women's clothes to benefit the Career Wardrobe. Since 1995, Career Wardrobe has been empowering women in transition to successfully find employment by providing free professional clothing. Donated clothing is sold at The Wardrobe Boutique; all proceeds benefits the nonprofit.

Donations will be picked-up by Wash Cycle and Gearing Up between Noon and 4 p.m. from homes and offices. Donors who aren't current Wash Cycle customers can receive free pick-up by scheduling online.

This collaboration is an extension of the partnership between Career Wardrobe and Wash Cycle, which offers their customers the opportunity to regularly donate directly to the organization during their laundry pick up. Wash Cycle provides local laundry service by bikes pickup and delivery. Gearing Up provides bicycles for exercise, transportation and personal growth to women transiting from abuse, addiction and incarceration.
