Make your own recycled paper! Pennypack Farm & Education Center is holding a class where attendees can make their own pulp from recycled materials and create colorful sheets of paper. You can use this as gift wrapping, or a frame for artwork or poems for Mother’s Day – Whatever strikes your fancy! The class is $12 for adults and $8 for children. Ok moms, it’s time to change it up a bit! This is a chance for you to make your own Mother’s Day present, one you really want. City Planter is holding a “Mother’s Day Wall Bubble” class tomorrow. $35 pays for the class and all the materials you will need to create a glass wall bubble with your favorite herb inside to either hang in your kitchen, living room, or bedroom. The class is not only available to mothers, of course! Either bring your mom, or come alone. Philippe de Spoelberch, Belgium botanist and plants-man will be presenting a lecture titled, “The Gardens of Herkenrode and the Arboretum Wespelaar: Reflections of a Belgian Plantsman” at the Morris Arboretum. Spoelberch began cultivating his own garden at his family estate in Belgium in 1966 and has had a personal passion for gardening ever since. His garden at the Arboretum Wespelaar features 15,000 plants. The lecture will take place at the Morris Arboretum located at 100E. Fluid will host “Lunch Money” a fundraising party to raise money for AIDS orphans in Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda. Orphan Support Africa helps children orphaned by HIV/AIDS by encouraging the leaders of their communities to improve their villages for the future of these children. The money will go towards providing the necessary tools and resources needed. Not only will you be helping out a good cause, you also get to dance the night away and hear some of the best Afrobeats, Techno and Soul music in Philadelphia.
