Party Time: Come Celebrate GRID’s 24th Issue!

Start

Our March 2011 issue (number 24!) has just gone to print, and we’re hosting another issue release party! After last month’s successful soiree at Johnny Brenda’s, we can’t wait to mix and mingle with our readers again — this time at Queen Village’s Kennett Restaurant. In honor of the new issue, Kennett is offering $1 off all draft beers and wine, plus $10 pizzas.

We’re also especially excited about our March issue, because tucked inside the pages is our second PASA Farmbook. This year’s ‘book highlights 10 local farms and three of PASA’s member restaurants, plus features wise words on food safety from PASA’s Executive Director Brian Snyder.

The 24th issue itself is also one to look forward to. Our cover story profiles Iris Bloom, the director of Protecting Our Waters, a grassroots organization fighting for responsibility in Pennsylvania’s recent natural gas drilling boom. You’ll also see Grid’s regular line-up of columns. Madame Fromage taste-tests cheese aged with fermented walnuts, the Urban Naturalist takes you “squirrel fishing” and Char Vandermeer gets stoked for seed catalog season.

Here are the party details:

Thursday, February 10, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Kennett Restaurant, 848 So. 2nd St.
