Conscious Career: 2011 Green Jobs Conference

Start

The West Philly Hybrid X Team and the Office of Sustainability will represent our city in this year’s Good Jobs, Green Jobs National Conference.

The Conference, now in its fourth year, is the nation’s leading forum for discussing and sharing ideas to strengthen the green economy. Last year’s event attracted 3,000 people with speakers including Nancy Pelosi, Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu, and our own Mayor Nutter. This year’s line-up will not disappoint either, with three days of presentations from sustainability experts from all over the country. If you have an interest in pursuing a job with an environmental focus, or simply want to learn more about the green economy, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive line-up.

Our Philly reps. themselves will host two workshop sessions. The Hybrid X Team’s workshop is, appropriately, “Capture the Imagination of Students to Power the Future .” While the Office of Sustainability’s Sarah Wu (Outreach and Policy Coordinator) will present a topic near and dear to the Hybrid X Team’s hearts: “Advancing the Capability of U.S. Cities to Support the Deployment of Electric Vehicles.”

Start planning your trip to the conference now. Hop on a bus to D.C. (the Chinatown bus is only $12), or arrange to carpool with a group of friends. Here are the details:
