Party Down: Celebrate the Food Issue

Start

Grid‘s annual Food Issue was put to bed late last week, and will be arriving on our shores within the next few days. Come celebrate our biggest issue ever this Thursday at Swift Half Pub (in the Piazza). Drinks are $1 off (5-7 p.m.), and at 7 p.m. Flying Fish taps a firkin of their famous Farmhouse Summer Ale. Refreshing!

As you may have heard, June’s Grid contains the 32-page Philadelphia Local Food Guide 2010, a project done in conjunction with Fair Food. It’s bursting with listings featuring oh so many of your favorite things: farmers’ markets, CSAs, cafes, artisan producers, neighborhood markets, breweries and restaurants. Also included: best buy local brunches and late-night snacks, as well as local cheese/local libations pairings from Marnie Old.

In Grid proper, we’ve got Four Worlds Bakery, high-tech pickles at Supper, goat cheese, foraging, home-canning, recipes and much, much more.

The Food Issue Release Party:

Thursday, May 13 at Swift Half Pub, 1001 North 2nd Street (in the Piazza)

5 – 7 p.m., $1 dollar off all drinks; 7 p.m., Flying Fish taps a firkin of Farmhouse Summer Ale
