Infill Philadelphia’s Industrial Sites Design Challenge will have its big reveal on May 27. The event will showcase designs that explore restorations of old, underused industrial buildings—structures that those who call Philly home are all too familiar with.
The Community Design Collaborative and The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation have partnered to explore this issue in the third phase of Infill Philadelphia’s design initiative. The initiative’s focus is on the revitalization of urban neighborhoods through design; Phases 1 and 2 have already tackled commercial corridors and food access solutions.
The in-progress Phase 3 should be completed by fall 2010. Infill Philadelphia recently received a $25,000 Community Action Grant from the Urban Land Institute.
Industrial Sites Design Reveal: May 27, 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the Center for Architecture (1218 Arch St.)
