TV Dinner: Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution

Start

Speaking of school lunches, who’s watching Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution? As you may remember, I was pretty excited about it (grush in full effect), but, due to my travels, I’ve only seen episode one. That said, I’m still amazed that this show is on network television.

Yes, as the New York Times points out, Oliver doesn’t really take on the corporate interests and agricultural policies that have been the main villains in this story, but he is still talking about fresh, home cooked foods—and voicing visceral disgust at the way many Americans eat.

So, who else is watching? What do people think?

  1. My husband & I have been tuning in on Friday nights to watch. I have recently started to blog about my journey (as a mom with all it’s craziness) to living a greener life and I have been learning so much. I really commend Jaime Oliver for trying to get the message out about taking care of our bodies with healthy food. I was appalled when I volunteered at my son’s school during his first lunchtime. I couldn’t believe we were missing out on such an essential area of learning. A french fry constitutes a vegetable? Come on.
