In spring 2010, the Environmental Coordinating Agency (ECA) opened the John S. and James L. Knight Green Jobs Training Center. Housed in a Kensington factory (106 W. Clearfield St.) renovated to LEED Gold standards, the center has trained over 900 individuals for careers in the green economy. The training facility is missing a key component—a solar lab.
This month, the ECA was announced as a candidate for a $250,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project. If they win, the money will be used to support the construction of the solar lab. All they need is your vote. Here’s how you can help:
- Visit http://www.refresheverything.com/phillygreenjobstrainingcenter
- Click “Vote for This Idea”
- Sign in with Facebook or create an account with Pepsi
- Tell friends, family members and colleagues to vote for ECA
- Repeat every day!
Voting runs through December 31.
