Since putting out Grid's Fashion Issue, we've had the pleasure of hearing about more and more Philly-based designers creating sustainable, wearable garments. Auralis Herrero, a 2005 graduate of Moore College of Art & Design, is doing our city proud by being the first Latina designer to show at New York Fashion Week's eco-friendly event: The GreenShows.
Herrero's looks are "Urban Tropical" and inspired by her Puerto Rican roots—they're breezy, bright and casual enough to wear on any occassion. That mustard yellow salsa dress is just what I need to get me out of this stuffy, cold weather funk.
Moore fashion students have also been popping up at runway events throughout Philly. Recent grads presented their work at September's Delaware Valley Phashion Phest, as well as at Philly Fashion Week earlier this month.
