In the early 1970s, Greenpeace activists took protest to a new level, when they got together in Vancouver and chartered a boat to sail into the U.S. nuclear test zone off Amchitka Island near Alaska. Over the years, they continued to use nonviolent direct action successfully against further nuclear testing, as well as campaigns to save the whales and stop harp seal slaughter in Canada. Paul Watson, one of the co-founders of Greenpeace, went on to start the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which is promoting the screening of this documentary.
