The new film “Catching the Sun” addresses the prospect of a global solar energy transition that has the potential to positively impact both income inequality and climate change. The film follows several lives, including unemployed workers seeking jobs in the solar industry; Van Jones, a leader in green jobs invited to work at the White House, but forced to resign by the far right; and a Chinese businessman building a solar village in Texas. The film will be followed by a discussion on local energy policies with speakers including Adam Agalloco, energy manager in the Philadelphia Office of Sustainability. Beer and snacks will be served. RSVP requested.
