Do you dream of taking images at Chanticleer during the hours of optimal light in the garden and without other visitors around? Lisa Roper will lead us through a short presentation covering the basic principles of garden photography, including: light, composition, depth of field, point of view, and shutter speed. Then she will take the class into the gardens, to put these principles into practice and demonstrate how she sets up a shot. Lisa will enhance our understanding of how to create a sense of place through the images we take, making them multi-dimensional work of art. There will be time during the walk for you to try your hand at these techniques and take images with your camera. This class is open to all who have a digital, single-lens reflex camera. The participant should have a working knowledge of manual or aperture settings on their camera. The class will take place in available light, so a tripod may be desired. Bring a notebook and dress for the weather.
